“You will never experience inner-peace and happiness until your daily behaviour is in line with your most deeply held values.” – Hyrum W. Smith.
When most people wake up they project their expectations for their day, either unconsciously or consciously. However, it is vital to intentionally intend what you’re wanting or expecting in your day.
Without specific expectations we often find ourselves reflecting on what we should have done, could have done, ought to have done and didn’t do.
Why does this happen? Simply because we have no particular objectives on a given day, we tend to meander around rather aimlessly.
Pre-emptive focus is a technique that we teach that enables you to create a clear vision of what you want to see happen in specific time slots of your day.
The best way to make time for the different aspects of your life is to have a written plan.
“You have to live on this twenty-four hours of daily time. Out of it you have to spin wealth, pleasure, money, content, respect and the evolution of your immortal soul. Its right use, its most effective use, is a matter of the highest urgency… all depends on that.” – Arnold Bennet.
Every week should be the same. This gets you into the habit of doing the same thing at the same time each week. This builds powerful momentum that gets results! You’ll get comfortable with doing high-value activities in your work; health; family etc. (see the eight areas of life on our homepage).
Now you have a ‘snapshot’ of your success in your calendar and there’s less chance of you doing something else in that time slot. Also, when you look at your calendar every day, you’ll see it there and form a mental picture, and remember that: “What you focus on you move toward.”
“When you organise the time and efforts according to your goals, you feel a sense of elation and enthusiasm at the end of each day because you know that tomorrow is planned for your benefit.” – Paul J. Meyer.
You won’t waste time re-thinking what to do every week. Once your plan is set, that’s it! DON’T CHANGE IT!
Because the rewards will be:
- Less stress because you’re doing what you know you want to do and need to do
- A happier family and friends because you spending quality time with them
- A healthier body, you’ll be more rested, and invigorated
- High self-esteem because you’re spending time on things that you truly value
- A happier you because you are relaxed and organised
Important points to remember:
- Until you have a plan, everything else will control your life
- Your weekly plan is your boss – you must follow it faithfully to be successfull in all the areas of your life
- Also, you will control your business instead of your business controlling you
